About Us

Sentry Garden™ was founded as a result of our family’s experiences with the nursing care system in the State of Ohio. We saw with great pain the lack of care the private nursing institutions gave to the patients they received so much in funding for. Our mother suffered a heart attack and a stroke while in the hospital. After her release she was sent to a quality-care facility until her insurance was depleted. During this time she was actively participating in physical therapy, to the point of being able to stand on her own, and even walk.

Unfortunately, after having to leave the first institution, the troubles began. And in 5 months she went from beginning recovery, standing, walking, and more to literally not being able to even sit up in her nursing home bed. The abundance of transient nurses, aides, and more were overwhelming, and our family watched as our mother suffered to the point to total and complete mental breakdown.

One day, we put a small video device and informed the staff they were being recorded. The change was enormous. The response time for pressing the call button went from 45 minutes at times down to 15-30 seconds. Aides did not appear in the room one at a time – they came in pairs. Linens began to be changed daily instead of what seemed like weekly. And significant wounds that were cleaned and changed every 3-4 days started to be changed on a daily basis.

Unfortunately, the experiences our mother went thru over 3 more institutions were the same, and now she cannot sit, stand, walk, cries in fear all the time, and is scared every time her family leaves her because she fears for her safety.

This experience, painful and with enormous heartache, has prompted our family to create a new line of attractive, easy to install, and ready to go Flower Pot Video Surveillance Systems so that they may improve the overall quality of care for not just our mother, but all nursing home residents across the country. The fact is, when people are being watched and/or monitored, their entire duty to their jobs and their patients elevates.
